Abby Green offers an interesting installment in the Chatsfield series by pairing a man who is living up to his family obligations after running away from them for years with a woman who has given up everything for her family business. The conflict between the two is straightforward in that Antonio Chatsfield is charged with negotiating the purchase of Orla Kennedy’s father’s dream, a hotel empire he built up from practically nothing which is show more now shuddering on the edge of collapse because of her mother’s expensive tastes.
Add that Orla has always fought to prove herself a worthy heir rather than being dismissed as a girl, and Antonio chose the French Foreign Legion to disappear as a young man, and things are complicated enough one would think.
But that’s not what this story is about.
No, in Rival’s Challenge with all these pressures and obligations, Orla gives herself one moment to relax in the arms of a stranger, acting completely out of character but enjoying the anonymity of forgetting who she is as much as he seems to want to step outside of his normal life as well, both adopting other names even. It’s a one night stand of mind-blowing passion, but that’s all it can ever be.
When Orla wakes in the morning, she’s stunned and wants to linger, but she knows her duties.
The trouble comes when her Marco turns out to be Antonio and his Kate is Orla.
This is where Abby Green turns an uncomfortable situation into a complex dance of loyalties, trust, and desire.
Their attraction is as strong as ever, but so are their family obligations. How can they trust each other when this connection, sexual or something more, is an all too easy angle to manipulate and get the better of the bigger issue of their business negotiations?
I enjoyed watching them try to figure their way through to love without betraying their families or each other. This is a situation where even the truth could be a lie and they have good reasons to use every possible advantage. Even saying they are not could be leverage.
I’m not one to hate misunderstanding romances because I believe life is full of misunderstandings and assumptions that can be hard to work through once they’ve taken hold. However, what made this book a strong one was the complex understandings that lead them astray.
Marco and Orla understand each other on a deeper level than most because when it comes down to it, they have much in common. Sure, they chose very different ways of dealing with it in the past, but the root, their families, is shared. It’s a strange situation to be in where they can see exactly why the other would betray, and can’t fight against it because they would do the same.
There’s explicit, and emotional, sex, romantic moments as well as mercenary ones, and characters with a lot going on under their respective business suits. A fun read with a lot to offer, Rival’s Challenge releases on September 19th.
P.S. I received this title from the publisher through NetGalley in return for an honest review. show less

Nice HP. This secret baby story is different in that each of them had been a secret baby themselves so they came at their own relationship from different angles which caused them trauma. Their relationship was built fairly well. He had a few assy moments and she had a few bitchy ones but on the whole they were learning to get along. Even though there were scenes from the hero's POV, I would have liked to see a scene where he admits to himself that he loves her but that came in her POV. Oh show more well. This is the first Abby Green that I've read and I would be willing to try her again. show less
RESTLESS BILLIONAIRE is from Mills & Boon Modern, new series BAD BLOOD. There are altogether eight volumes in this series which track the lives of a powerful dynasty, where secrets and scandal never sleep, The Notorious Wolfes.
RESTLESS BILLIONAIRE is one brother’s story by the fabulous Abby Green.
Ruthless and aloof business tycoon Sebastian Wolfe feels a certain attraction toward the bride, Aneesa Adani, a Bollywood star being married at one of his successful chain of hotels, the show more uberluxurious Mumbai Grand Wolfe Hotel. It was the high society wedding of the year. Sebastian chides himself for lusting after the bride and walks away to his penthouse suit.
And who should interrupt his privacy but the bride herself,
Aneesa Adani, running away from her wedding!
Aneesa, just a day before found her fiancé in a compromising situation but was forced to go through with the wedding as she thought of the damage a cancelled wedding would do to her career and her Dad’s reputation. But when it came to the crunch, she couldn’t go through with it. And running away seemed the only answer. But running brought her in the penthouse suit of a gorgeous stranger, whose piercing blue eyes was in her mind when she decided to walk!
Now, would Sebastian fulfill this bride’s expectation for the wedding night?
And letting passionate Aneesa close to him would ignite the spark which could melt his ruthless heart.
Abby Green does a great job showing how people lie to themselves to save their feelings and soothe their egos. Both Sebastian and Aneesa have plenty of baggage with their names on it. It is only in opening those suitcases and examining each item inside can these two people find their happily ever after.
I would definitely like to read the other stories in this series as the Wolfe Dynasty turned out to be so interesting with hidden pasts and skeletons in their closets!
Redolent with breathtaking romance, spectacular emotional punch, a believable conflict and vivid atmospheric details RESTLESS BILLIONAIRE is sure to thrill readers and is another fantastic romance from the fabulous pen of Abby Green. show less

Nice. The title is a little silly - they've certainly not forgiven one another (or themselves). But the setup was good - both Siena and Andreas were established as solid people with strong motives for their behavior - and they carried that out throughout. I have to say that they were a little too stubborn to feel right - when Andreas came back to her (or dragged her back to him), they might have admitted why to themselves, if not to each other. It took them quite a while to loosen up. And show more Siena did a great deal of the giving in first, telling him the truth about Serena and what happened at their first meeting from her point of view. Andreas is very good at holding a grudge. But he did, finally, give in. It's quite explicit and quite hot in the sex scenes, but for once I wasn't annoyed by the standard "overwhelming attraction" trope. It was only one element in the pattern binding them. And it did get me crying in a couple of the scenes, when they were making admissions to one another. Very rich. And given the other people mentioned, maybe there are more stories about this group? I'd like to read more - I really enjoy series romance. I got the book from Harlequin We Hear You, in return for a review and a survey. show less
