Been on a Sandra Marton kick these last few days. There is a definite formula to her writing which is okay since it's a formula I don't mind. This was a reuniting lovers story with a secret baby thrown in. I do enjoy having POV from both the hero and the heroine. Here as is generally the case it seems with SM it is fun to watch the hero fall back in love with the heroine and then realize that he's never fallen out of love but has only been denying it to himself. With SM it seems as if the show more heroes are more well defined than the heroines but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Other writers do it the other way and both work as long as it's well done. show less
Arguably the best harlequin novella out of the three I've read this month.
Good, solid, steaming hot porn that is more than 40 pages long. Nipples everywhere and the protagonist is not a virgin. Hellz yeah. I'm a pleased reader.
The story was somewhat interesting, even if I only half suspected that the father was trying to play the matchmaker (I really think there should be some clarification for the ones who haven't read the previous installments in the series).
It was sexist in a lot of ways show more and the effort to portray the lead female as a feminist was so naive that it was almost charming. Like watching your child trying to take its first steps but landing on its face instead. Sure, it's a fruitless attempt, but undoubtedly adorable.
I liked the writing better than the other harlequins I read. I only wish the author would find more inventive ways to describe an erection. Oh, well, I guess we can't have everything.
I'm seriously tempted to try to borrow some of the other "books" from this series. show less

This book was okay. There were a lot of parts where the heroine acted like an idiot and totally did things that only an HP heroine would do. A real life person in her situation would have told the hero that she was stranded and asked him to take her to the consulate for help. The hero had a massive chip on his shoulder that made him do some immature things. But the heat between the two was well done and I liked watching their crazy antics.
Goofy little story with a wildly improbably plot. Nothing in it to be taken seriously but I enjoyed it. It was like the silliest of romantic comedies. Totally light and fun. I spent the first 120 page fretting over the fact that the heroine was still wearing an ill fitting home made brown dress. Come on we need some typical HP power shopping.
I think I might check out the brothers' stories.
