Carson Ode

This is a lavishly illustrated account of the trip the author and his wife took in 2008 through every Iowa county, criss-crossing the counties tier by tier, from Lee in the southeast corner of Iowa to Lyon in the northwest. The photography is very well-done and the quality of the pictures is high. I was particularly pleased to see a picture of every one of the 100 county courthouses (Lee has two). The text is highy laudatory but does manage to mention things like Postville's illegal show more immigrant trouble and Villisca's ax murders and Mason City's bank robbery by John Dillinger.
