Reviews
This classic illustrated history is organized around the people who make theater—producers, playwrights, directors and choreographers, actors, designers, architects—which is how I experienced Theater in America when I worked as a lighting designer. All must work together; all have competing and complementary interests. I was acquainted with many of the people mentioned here who worked in the theatre from the 1970s to the 1990s, and it is nice to see their names and remember the triumphs, show more the follies, the disasters. show less
