Little Knitted Garden Friends: 15 Adorable Take-Along Pals to Create, Love, and Share (Landauer) Easy Flat-Knit Toy Patterns for Beginners, Fast Scrap Yarn Projects to Create Soft Handmade Gifts by Val Pierce
This is a very cute book giving instructions for knitting 15 soft dollies for little kids. The dollies are decorated to represent animals (and a garden gnome) and are designed with safety in mind. The projects can be made with leftover yarn and stuffed with small amounts of fiberfill. They are quick to knit and assemble.
The beauty of these designs is that they are knitted as a tube with head, arms, and legs defined later by indenting areas with stitching that compresses the stuffing. There show more are no separate arms and legs to add in or to be pulled off by the child. Contrasting stitches mark eyes, noses, etc.
Many of the designs have added ears, antlers, and accessories but, of course, you can decide if those are safe for the future owner.
I am working from a digital ARC so I can't say how well the paperback will work out, but I'd bet that I would be annoyed with it snapping shut while I was working. Digital might be better.
Be aware that about a quarter of the book is unneeded instructions in basic knitting. You have to dig through this section to discover actual recommendations for best cast on and bind off methods for these projects.
I received a digital ARC from the publisher through NetGalley.com. show less

One-Stitch Baby Knits: 22 Easy Patterns for Adorable Garments and Accessories Using Garter Stitch (IMM Lifestyle Books) Beginner-Friendly Projects Designed to Fit Newborns & Infants Up to 18 Months by Val Pierce
I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. One-Stitch Baby Knits is a collection of 22 easy to intermediate level garter stitch baby patterns by Val Pierce. The patterns are well written and the instruction clear and concise. Some of the photos seem quite small but then I read the ebook version on an iPad mini so I assume they will be larger in the print version. The technique instructions are good for right handed knitters but if you are a lefty show more like me I would look for another source for technique instructions. I would recommend this book for beginning knitters. Publishing Date June 10. 2019 #NetGalley #OneStitchBabyKnits #ValPierce #FoxChapel Publishing #IMMLifestyleBooks show less

Book starts out with smaller color photos of the projects with their title, TOC where introduction and tips and hints.
Patterns are broken up into levels.
Everything you would need is discussed also shown with color photos.
How to knit is shown with step by step instructions. Conversion charts and abbreviations are also shown.
Each of the projects are color coded by the level of show more expertise. Each pattern includes the level, title, summary of the item and materials needed along with gauge, measurements and other useful information.
Color photos of the item are included. Step by step written directions are given, showing you how to do it via a color photo.
What I love about this book is it is for everyone-no matter what level you are. the projects are very useful and easy to make.
Love the color combinations of the projects-they really go together well.
Like color code of each level so if you are unsure if you'd be able to do the project you can view the level easily.
There are so many I want to make as I knit for charity for infants and young babies.
Index and acknowledgements are included and about the author.
Would love to read more of this author's works.
Received this review copy from Fox Chapel Publishing via IMM Lifestyle Books from Netgalley and this is my honest opinion.

Good variety of knitted rabbits, everything from realistic to finger puppets. Sweet, relatively simple and plenty of variety.
