I have mixed feelings about this nonfiction book. The big idea of the book is to provide readers with essential information about the major animal groups at a glance. One thing I liked about this book is that it is organized with many charts/tables. For example, the “flies” section contains a chart that goes across two pages with every type of fly including hover flies, small fruit flies, warble flies, etc. What I didn’t like about the book is the writing and its length. For instance, show more the first two pages of the book entails very small font and long sentences, in which the pages are covered in text. I think it is too long of an introduction, which didn’t get me engaged or excited to read about insects and other invertebrates. Therefore, although the content of the book is important, I didn’t think it was that great of an informational book. show less
