Young readers, most of whom are likely to be familiar with the countdown rhyme used here will find this colorfully illustrated, googly-eyed book captivating. An added bonus: following the rhyme, there's a short description of each of the dinosaurs mentioned in the ten verses.

This book would be good as a read aloud for lower elementary students. This book counts down 10 to 0 and uses the rhyming meter/pattern of "5 little monkeys jumping on a bed," to tell about different types of dinosaurs in a silly way.

"Earth Day Birthday" is a book that helps children identify the many different animals on this earth. Using a format similar o the song "Twelve Days of Christmas", it gives the children both name recognition, and beautiful illustrations of animals in their natural habitats. As for using this book in the classroom, I would have first grade students use this book to refer to what animal they would want to research at the library, and write a small response about.

My kids really like the "googly" eyes on this book, but it does make it difficult to shelve. The illustrations are very good, and the rhymes are ok.
