Newly Made Mason: What He & Every Mason Should Know About Masonry by H. L. Haywood
This book provides a strong foundation in the practical and historical context of the fraternity and the lodge system for the new Mason, and deals somewhat less with the more symbolic or esoteric elements, though it does provide a brief introduction to the scope of these things as well.
