Oh my goodness this is surprisingly wonderful. I learned so much that I didn't know, even though we had 'woodchucks' at my grandma's farm. And the friends' commentaries are a hoot. The illustrations are simple, but I looked closely and saw details of both content and technique that I don't often in early readers. I will definitely look for more by the author, and maybe by illustrator, too.

I read the copy that is archived on openlibrary.org.
The groundhog is not satisfied with just one day, and so declares Groundhog Appreciation Month -- and proceeds to tell all his animal friends why he deserves an entire month. This is a fun and informative book with great illustrations.
We liked how full of facts and interesting information this book was while presenting it all so entertainingly. The premise of "The" Groundhog wanting more air time is great.
I've read this book at least three times in my life. Every time I've read it, I've picked up more things than the last time I'd read it. I absolutely LOVE this book. Having two dogs myself, I found It Only Looks Easy to really hit home and made me think about reality. I loved all the characters and I could definitely relate to Kat. I love both my dogs and I've lived through the death of my old dog. I've, also, been through my first day of seventh grade, which wasn't as easy as I'd thought, show more either. I loved reading further and further into the book and I really wish there was a sequel, because I'd read it in a heartbeat. show less
