This is a pretty underwhelming flap board book....kind of a one trick pony, if you will....the flaps are the star of the show. The text is almost non existent. Also, I don't care for the demonization of sharks this book encourages. A strong pass for me.

A great flip book that would intrigue a wide range of ages. It discusses various ocean species and their living habits. Sections included dolphins, sharks, seahorses, corals, fish who occupy the bottom of the ocean, ones who live near the beach, and ways fish blend into their surroundings. The phenomenal aspect was every page used lift and look flaps to introduce new creatures or show the way they protect themselves. A great example of this is the puffer fish. It started out showing its show more normal size but if you lift the flap you see what it looks like puffed up. This book would be excellent for an ocean unit. show less

In Under the Sea, it has different kinds of fish and things that you would find in the ocean. Cute book and good to learn about the ocean.

Glitterkerstbomen stickerboek. Illustraties: Lucy Barnard.

Oké, ik beken: dit glitterboek is niet voor een klein neefje, buurmeisje of oppaskind, dit is gewoon voor mijn 43-jarige zelf! Om het kind in mijzelf eens goed te verwennen. Deze zomer amuseerde ik met zo goed met het Glitterstickerboek Zomer dat ik zin had in meer. Dus bij deze: een lekker, gezellige kerstversie om alvast wat in de stemming te komen.

Het eerste deel van het boekje is in feite een verhaal (met instructies) waar jij show more zelf de juiste tekeningen (stickers dus) bij kan kleven. In het tweede deel vind je de juiste stickers per pagina genummerd. Zo weet je exact op welke pagina wat hoort. Maar je kan natuurlijk wild doen en ze kleven waar jij zin hebt, je eigen verhaal maken. Of nog wilder: ze niet allemaal in dit boekje kleven maar er ook je kerstkaarten mee versieren, of cadeau labels van maken of… Dat is het toffe aan deze boekjes: je kan braaf, ontspannen ‘binnen de lijntjes kleuren’ wat een rustgevend effect geeft. Of je kan helemaal los gaan, wat dan weer een blij en vrolijk gevoel geeft. Je kan ook beide combineren. Dat ga ik doen.

De super schattige tekeningen van Barnard veroveren gegarandeerd het hart van jong en oud. Méér dan 190 stickers: feest! Fan! Het is ook een tof geschenk-idee. Het weegt niet veel dus is ook makkelijk per post te versturen. show less
