All of my children have enjoyed this book. I just finished reading it to my youngest, and she liked it as well as the eight older ones. It is full of pictures of various facets of life in the past, and many pages have simple crafts that can be done to go along with the content on the page.
The illustrations are delightful and though there aren't any words, the book provides opportunities for the reader to develop a sharp eye and to draw conclusions from the pictures.
Wow. I really thought I'd enjoy reading about King Arthur and the Knitghts of the Round Table. Mostly all the tales blurred together and all seemed to be sort of the same thing over and over again. This edition is only 130 pages but it took me forever to read and that is unusual for me.
A compilation of three stories about events and adventures in Littletown, including a birthday party, a missing cat, and an orange accident at the market. The children and adults are good representations of different cultures and backgrounds, and the children are curious and excited, which easy for any child to associate with. The plots are very exciting and different, and the themes are usually examples of being observant of the world around you, listening to your parents, and helping those show more in need. The style is interesting, as the text has simple wording to describe the story at the top of the page for young readers, and more detailed descriptions for each small picture for parents to read to their child and help develop the story more. The illustrations are very colorful and express well what is happening in the story, through what looks likes photographs of model of a make-believe world. I don't know that I would include it in my library collection, but I would probably use it in my personal collection as a learning tool for my own young readers. show less
