his tiny little book is filled with inspiring and beautiful letters written to women as if from the hand of God. Scripture is laced throughout each letter and they are worded in such a way that it appeals to the heart of all women. Women long to know they are loved, wanted, appreciated, valued, and special. If you are looking for something to give to a lady that you know this would be perfect. I think it is a book that would be great to give a teen girl. In the throes of the teen years as show more she struggles to find her own identity and worth, as she struggles to define herself and to discover God's plan for her life this little book will inspire her to press on. It will remind her of her tremendous worth to the Father who created her. It will be a fresh breath in the midst of the pressure to fit in and be like everyone else. As I read this I was amazed at the beauty that was captured in each letter and loved the referenced scripture. I immediately told my own teen daughter that she needed to read the book. As a way to encourage this I left it on her vanity in the bathroom. Each morning when she goes in to get ready for the day and fix her hair she picks up the book and reads a small section. A few days ago I asked what she thought of the book. Her response: "Mom, this is the best little book I have read. I love the letters from God!!" and then she began to tell me the favorite parts she had read so far. I am thankful for books that cause my daughter to remember her worth to God. I am thankful for books that open opportunities to talk to her about how very unique and special she is. I am thankful for books that cause her to look into scripture and to explore God's character and bask in His love. Thanks to Tyndale for this review copy.

I frequently receive book requests that fall into the Love/Romance/Dating genres, and more times than not, the books are written in the "cookie-cutter advice column" style, holding little more than secondhand information. For this reason, I am very selective when it comes to these types, usually only taking on one per month - the more original and out-of-the-box - the better. Your Heart's Desire sounded very intriguing, especially since a close friend of mine had been going through a show more rough patch in her relationship and wanted help getting through it. We were both surprised how easy it was to read, and how down-to-earth and genuine Sheri Rose Shepherd's writing style was. She writes as if she is a close friend, sharing stories of her loves and losses with the people she trusts. This made the book, and her messages, all the more powerful and inspirational, allowing readers to really reflect on their own relationships, (or in some cases, a lack-thereof). The chapters are of an appropriate length, plenty of places to bookmark and take breaks, and the scripture throughout links the reader back to God, (particularly the letters "from" God). She shows women how to love their men even when they feel like they don't deserve it - just like God does; to a point, she's right. She also says that “...if our men have given us every reason to give up on our relationships with them, we must not give up our God-appointed position of influence in their lives.” Her beliefs resonate with me, but I do draw the line at manipulative/abusive relationships; there are parameters. Husbands also promised to "love, honor and cherish" their wives, so shouldn't the same rules apply to them? That was the only real problem I had with the book besides a few odds-and-ends. I also liked the idea of the QR codes that took me to videos where the author spoke about related topics. The interactive aspect was enjoyable as well. Recommended for single, dating, married, and "mothering" women who want to enrich their relationships with their significant others and with God.

Sheri Rose Shepherd’s book of devotions for teenage girls – His Princess Girl Talk with God - is a lovely gift for any young woman struggling with the pressures of the world. Sharing transparently from her own life, Shepherd deals with eating disorders, premarital sex, purity, parents, and much, much more through a lens of God’s love for us as His daughters.

Broken into forty brief devotions, each is presented in three parts. Shepherd’s own experiences on the topic at hand, an show more imagined love letter from God’s perspective, and a scripture verse to tie everything together. If you condensed the text it would be around one-and-a-half small pages of text altogether, though it’s broken up visually onto four pages per devotion.

Her approach is one that calls young women to both follow God’s high calling for them, while also providing space for His grace and forgiveness when we fall. At times her personal stories are hilarious (walking off the end of a stage at her first beauty pageant) and are at other times heart breaking (her struggle with drugs following her shame over a teenage abortion) – so many are memorable.

The book is formatted perfectly for gift giving to a special young woman in your life who may need encouragement in her walk with Christ as she struggles against the pressures of this world. Even my seven-year-old was fascinated with the design of the book – vibrant hardcover filled with colorful pages (white with red text, pink with red text, and red with white text); she’s asked me to save it for her for when she’s older.

Because she tackles mature, tough issues, I would recommend this book either for tweens and young teens in a public school environment where those pressures are felt so much earlier, or those over fifteen if they are in a more sheltered environment such as being homeschooled.

A perfect addition for young Christian girls and their parents' libraries. Geared towards girls aged four to nine, this simple and beautifully illustrated collection of Bible stories is a great introduction to the Bible. It captures the essence of long complex Bible passages in two to three pages per story and ends each section with a thought and a prayer. Great for bedtime prayers and reflection with your children.

Disclaimer, I am not a parent but I am a public librarian and I think this is show more a great resource for parents and will captures kids attention and hearts with its profound message and beautiful illustrations.

I received this book for free from Moody Publishers in return for my honest, unbiased opinion.
