The pop/rock band's second major-label album (Island, 1995).

C+ (Okay).

On paper it looks like I should love this band and this album. It's objectively good, and it's my sort of thing, but I just can't get into it. The singer isn't strong enough or charismatic enough to carry off the theatricality. The production is muddy. The arrangements have too much going on, especially in the trebble range. A lot of the riffs and hooks sound too much like each other. I'm bored, by songs that aren't show more boring.
