first I was overwhelmed by all the different characters but once you get to know them it is very interesting how they are all connected through work or love. Lots of drama and mystery. Sad and happy endings for different people. Nice balance.

Originally published in the 1950s or thereabouts but the version I read ran in a ladies magazine when I was a kid (about 90s)
Its about a woman who finds out the daughter she thought had vanished forever during WWII might still be alive. The child was named "Child 312" because no one knew who she was. Several other women also tries to claim the girl as their own.
I belive that if I re-read it I would find it very cheesy and an improbable story but at the show more time I loved it. show less
