This book about the American flag from the True Books: American Symbols series begins with a history of flags and then discusses the American flag in particular. The book covers the expected: the story of Betsy Ross' sewing the first flag, the writing of "The Star-Spangled Banner," the Pledge of Allegiance, and a list of ways to honor the flag. Large type and lots of color photographs make this accessible to the intended audience.
