In the first two books, I've wanted for the cases to be longer and not just flash bangs. Wherein, each case would be fleshed-out, more that there might be two to three cases per volume, all of them contributing to a major arc.
Volume #6 was a bit of a... bore compared to previous issues, probably because it solely focused on one thing (despite undercurrents from the Madame). Or maybe I just don't like sea creatures.
*It was great to be introduced to the eldest Trese sibling. He reminded me of show more another comic book vigilante superhero whose name escapes me right now.
*What do they do when dozens of civilians witnessed a 60 -foot tall fish monster? Does the Trese world have a Mist like in the Percy Jackson books that masks what mundanes see? show less

*Unlike the first four volumes where there's a different case in each chapter, this is the first volume where there's a continuous one all throughout.
*Which introduces an overarching story and, perhaps, an arch enemy.
*I love the fact that although they have different names, one can recognize their similarities to real life places and people.
*Oh, oh! I want a volume where all the Trese siblings band together to solve a case.
*Alex gets a manliligaw.

+ The cases were short and to the point.
-The stories were short. No exposition.
+ Supernatural detective for the win!
+/- No background about Alexandra Trese and how she started to be a supernatural consulting investigator
+ Philippine mythology!
Side note:
This will make a great on-screen series.

There was an afterword that said there was a project way back when to turn a Trese story to a ten-minute movie. It fell through.
I still maintain that this would be a good TV series...:
*with the right director
*with writers who won't fall victim to Philippine TV norms; who will take risks
*with staying true to the essence of Trese
*with an episode per week broadcast
