Short biography
Despite the entry in Library of Congress, according to Creating Television: Conversations with the People Behind 50 Years of American TV by Robert Kubey the David Levy responsible for Potomac Jungle is the same man who worked in the television business and founded Wiltshire Productions.

Veteran Hollywood entertainment mogul David Levy, creator and/or originator of such shows as The Addams Family, Name That Tune, Bonanza, and The Bob Newhart Show, knows the world of big business better than anyone, and has seen the struggle for power that breaks and makes careers in the blink of an eye. He is a former presidential speech writer, producer for CBS, and programmer for NBC.

An odd family lives in a spooky mansion.

Weirdos that love each other and like to blow things up. I have to think that if the Muppet Show had been a sitcom instead of a variety show, it might have been a little too much like the Addams Family.
