LFL find... should be perfect, right? Wrong. Too much clutter, too much furniture that is so worn it is splintery, too many tchotchkes and dust collectors, and too many medical carts. I love to shop thrift, but for attractive *functional* items that I have an active need for. Maybe for someone who is 99% into the 'style' part of the title promise, and doesn't care if they actually can live in the space?
Some beautiful spaces, but their mantra is EDIT, which is not me. There is a lovely collection of found nature on pg 166-167 that is very much to my taste, and some of the utilitarian and outdoor eating spaces are just right. But some of the rooms are so bare - particularly of books - that I might discover their occupants are boring.
A new take on an alphabet book, this one tells the story of a boy innocently tossing a snowball that morphs into a full-fledged avalanche that ends up taking everything in the world with it, until it is sucked into a vacuum and then spat right back out into place. The surprising story is well matched by the wild, energetic and boldly colored collage illustrations.
12 projects. Progressively more difficult. Pull out patterns included. Extensive fabric reference guide. Glossary. Teeny, tiny text in a very light color. Text heavy. Beautiful photos. Feels like an ad for Amy Butler fabrics.
