Probably would have made a bigger impact if I'd seen it in the 80s or 90s. It's a dark tale of a clique, the Heathers, who are the leaders of the school and Veronica, who hates herself for wanting to be part of their clique but also can't seem to stop herself. When disturbed loner, J. D., enters the frame it all starts to get very complicated and real and people start dying. It's a black look at high school and there are some comedic moments but there's also the realisation that there are show more people who do this because they are done. It's also interesting to see different levels of bad and how someone who is easily led can be led to worse by a worse person.
It was interesting to see people play croquet.
It's also obvious that a lot of other movies and teen dramas fed from this film and how this movie has become pivotal for a lot of people.

A popular girl and her new boyfriend do some murders.

2.5/4 (Okay).

It has a constant, unsettling weirdness that doesn't let you look away.
A violent cop is released from prison to hunt his nemesis.

1.5/4 (Meh).

It had potential, and often comes close to being competently made.
