A really amazingly comprehensive book, written for both British and North American homeowners / decorators. Thoughtful consideration of authenticity (original tiles from a demolished French chateau, although not strictly authentic outside of France, fit into the narrative of wealthy British and Americans importing materials from Europe) and possible issues with buildings of particular eras. In my current factory-built 1970s prefab, it's not particularly necessary to own such a book, but the show more hundreds of beautiful colour photographs and the wealth of information make it difficult to part with it. show less
