Superb record of 19th century New York, well laid out with intelligent captions.
Wonderful pictorial history of the years of 1853 - 1901 showing the ever-changing, dynamic, growth of New York City.

The only complaint I have, and it is a small one, is that the captions for the posters are at the back of the book, but because Dover used the huge format to give the reader the largest image possible, the trade off is ok.
