Reviews
An odd collection of photographs--odd because the photographer writes that he included only what he felt was unique about Chicago, which, apparently would be automobiles (especially in parking lots), Wacker Drive, and poverty.
This large format book is a broad and thoughtful introduction to photographic practice as it existed at the time. It is extensively illustrated. Feininger was a technical master who understand his medium and explained it well. Much of what here is repeated in his later books.
Some cityscapes, lots of citizens. Good pictorial research.
