This is really my aunt's book, which she bought and wants to keep--otherwise I think it wouldn't be long on our bookshelves. It's not bad mind you. It's a slim book of some of the favorites in Italian cuisine. It's divided into "Soups and Antipastos," "Pastas, Pizzas and Risottos," "Fish and Seafood," "Meat and Poultry" "Vegetables and Salads" and "Desserts and Cakes." It's part of "The World of Cooking" series by the author, and I guess that's my issue with it. The author isn't an expert on show more Italian cooking, but also has cookbooks on Food of the Orient and Spanish and Mexican Cooking. If you're going to get a book on Italian Cooking, shouldn't it be by someone who really knows and loves the cuisine? show less
I have tried several recipes in this, they were successful. It is difficult sometimes due to language to figure out what is being said, but not impossible. Pictures are lovely.
This is a lovely book, but seafood intimidates me so I haven't tried many recipes.
