The Kindle formatting is bad on this book. The author will be discussing one topic then suddenly switch to another topic, then back to the original topic. At times it is difficult to follow. I was expecting more curiosities that were wacky and out of the way in hopes of finding places to visit this summer. Unfortunately, I only found one or two places to visit.
Collecting dust on my shelf - I think I picked it up at a thrift shop years ago. So, finally, I read the intro, in which the author admits that she doesn't actually attempt to answer the title question until the last chapter. Read lightly the last chapter. Didn't feel interested or enlightened enough to read more.
This was a great title for those who were just starting out in the careers. In addition to offering ideas for career start-up it was a (not so much travel) guide for young, hip cities that were conducive for starting out, what to find in each city, statistics, etc.
I don't know if there is a current version or not--haven't been in the market. If there isn't i'm not sure how useful this book would be...
