I'm not finished reading this nice volume of Little Lulu comics but it would have to go pretty wrong for me to change my opinion of it. These are older stories that stand up well today. The material is extremely kid friendly and the artistic style is excellent. Nice, clean lines, that allow for characters to clearly be discernible. Too many comics today completely botch this. Highest recommendation for younger readers, girls AND boys alike.
Not the best of the reissue collection so far. Almost all the stories feature supporting characters rather than Lulu and Tubby and the jokes don't seem to be as funny. Not even a single chuckle in the entire book! Perhaps this may have something to do with the fact that all these stories come from 1959 which was the year I pretty much stopped buying the originals at the corner drugstore (that may have been, in part, because my family moved to a new neighborhood in the suburbs that no longer show more had a corner drugstore... or any other kind of store... that I could walk or ride my bike to). show less
The stories are great o fcourse, but this time the color printing job leaves a lot to be desired. Almost as careless and spotty as the original comics.
Plots are sometime nonsensical which makes it really enjoyable because the drawing are fantastically fun to llok at.
