D. H. Montgomery (1837–1928)

This book is a lovely way to learn American history. The story of the United States is told by describing the lives of many people who made the country what it is, beginning with Christopher Columbus and a number of other explorers, and ending with several inventors, military men and statesmen. These stories are interesting, and accurate.

I'm guessing on the date. It's in sad shape, with the title page missing. I really enjoy reading old history books (it was my major) in light of later events.

Theodore Roosevelt is the new president at the end of this book!!

Poor but charming condition. Ex-school book from Pawtucket RI that is written in, torn, stained, and well-used. There are beautiful etchings throughout. Book seems to be intact - just missing 1/4 page.

This book has photos, maps, end-of-chapter questions, the list of presidents, and other important facts on the states and territories.

This book would be good in the classroom for the students to help them with a history lesson.
