Intending to do this very walk, the longest continuous trail in Britain, I bought this book as a need-to-know-reference before committing myself. It seems a dedicated and fit walker can do the 620 miles in about a month - and this ex RN serviceman. is more than impressed that a squad of Royal Marines RAN it in just over 10 days.
The book is a plethora of important information for those who do not have RM stamina and resourcefulness and is a must read for any who are attempting this journey on show more anything other than an ad hoc-piece meal basis. Even if you're not going to, the book is a wealth of historical, geological and naturalistic information and your erudition is enhanced appreciably, for the reading. show less

Trekking in Greenland - The Arctic Circle Trail: The Arctic Circle Trail (Cicerone Trekking Guides) by Paddy Dillon
Read ever word in this book numerous times a I backpacked this trail. Reasonably good....or good enough, might be the best terminology. A standard hiking guide. I also have the first edition and there is little variance of consequence between the two. Finished 03.09.19.
This guide describes one-day walks, cycleways and outline descriptions of long distance routes in County Durham, which are chosen to illustrate the region's rich history, heritage countryside and natural splendours.
