Meh. I've read better. I didn't hate it, but I kept hoping I could hurry up so it would be over.
Though this appears to be part of a series, I won't bother with the next book. The flashbacks were disconcerting without purpose. The relationship with the invisible lover was a bit much. The name -- Count -- was sort of aggravating.
But I think most of all, I just didn't care what happened in the book. The relationship between the protagonist and his closest friends seemed somewhat unbelievable. show more
I also found the protagonist's occupation as a paranormal investigator to not only be lackluster but not actually explored well. Most of his time was spent fighting to stay alive. show less
