Robert S. Nelson (1) (1947–)

I have read many of the essays out of this over the years, but yesterday I finally sat down and read through pretty much the whole thing. It's quite a valuable resource for the art historian or visual culture scholar, fairly comprehensive in its scope. As with any compilation, some essays are a lot better than others, and there are some gaps. Also, the second edition seems like it was copy-edited by a really dumb computer.
