I often find myself on Design*Sponge looking for specific ideas and this "best of" print compilation didn't disappoint. If you're looking for something to give you a "do this apartment and you will be living on the cutting edge of design," then of course it will be an exercise in futility since most of the trendy elements are over by now. On the other hand, if you're looking to see how creatives build room for their collections and personal taste in order to draw inspiration for tweaking show more your own space, then it's a winner. lotsa hipster design ideas, eye candy; nothing I'd burn to replicate, but fun. and great little projects in the 2nd half of book. also, good general how-to stuff at end.

So many wonderful decorating ideas! Design Sponge is one of my favorite blogs, it's a daily read for me. I'll be referring to this again and again for new ideas to incorporate into my home.

Design Sponge at Home is a companion to the popular Design Sponge blog. The basic concept is that interior design can be affordable and accessible. The first section of the book called 'Sneak Peaks' takes the reader to several homes with several photographs of each. Many of these homes feature D.I.Y. projects and re-purposed furniture. Each home is unique, but modest. The second section feature hands on instructions for D.I.Y. projects featured on the Design Sponge blog. Each project is show more illustrated and described in detail. A third section focuses on before and after photographs. Each photograph shows the cost, time and difficulty level. Overall, this is a very useful tool for anyone interested in improving their home. show less
