Beautiful art book, that can be summarized as concept art for future, in some cases even down to the level of architecture and layout of buildings, apartments and houses.
Just looking at ergonomic-related sketches to determine the height, width of the spaces, how they will behave in space during the every day tasks ..... pure delight. One has a feeling that every piece Syd Mead works on can be implemented very quickly, it is just exquisite how every detail has a purpose, is rugged where show more needed and feels like piece of machinery that can just be built in the factory nearby.
While some work is more fantastic than other (i.e. Tron vs Mission Impossible tools or Blade Runner vehicles) each and every piece is not given as something abstract, but as something that can be built, sewed and has a true meaningful purpose. Just look at Elysium concepts ...... beautiful.
If you need inspiration, or just to see something beautiful, futuristic and - while looking at it - practical, even if it is set in doom and gloom of Blade Runner, this is the book for you.
