Comics veteran slate create this graphic novella of a female wedding photographer who is mourning the loss of her marriage and unpacking her motivations and beliefs about marriage. The storytelling is clear and moves rapidly, with many pages consisting of a single panel. However, perhaps due to format or space constraints, the story moves more rapidly and with less nuance than one might be yearning for. (130)
Clear concise, positive instructions for creative writing for graphic novels, aimed at younger readers but still relevant. Good chapters about plotting and how to keep creativity flowing. I found it quite encouraging.
A great book on creating a Graphic Novel. The book gives many helpful suggestions and uses many images to illustrate these ideas. The text is light hearted but gives serious attention to the goal of creating a well thought out graphic novel. A fine addition to any creative person’s library.

Chock full of fun, inspiration, writing tools, and all you ever wanted to know about graphic writing, You Can Do a Graphic Novel will inspire and delight you. I particular enjoyed the chapters on "The Creative Process" and "The Plotline," and the show more chapter on "The Biz" offers invaluable advice for any writer.
