The chapters in this book alternate between the perspectives of the two dogs, so it would be good for teaching perspective. The stories are boring, however, though slightly amusing. Beginning readers might enjoy it, however, because, despite having “chapters”, it is very easy to read.
This is Scholastic Phonics Readers Series book 31. In this book, we spend some time with dogs Zip and Zap- see their beds, watch them run up the hill and chase things, and watch Zip get lost and be found. This book is the first in the series to have "chapters." There are too many sight words to list- the new ones are "after, some, thing." The sound is /z/ and the word family is /in/.
This is Scholastic Phonics Readers Series book 36. In this book the kids who own Zip and Zap are playing with the sprinkler and hose in the yard. When they are told to watch the baby, everyone, baby included, gets muddy, but after a wash they've done their job and are clean. This is a "chapter book," with the new words "baby, be, fall, much, your," and the sounds /sh/, /th/, and the word family "ob."
This is Scholastic Phonics Readers Series book 35. Zip and Zap's owners have decided that they want fish. Their parents relent, and, with help from the pet store clerk, they get all they need. This is a chapter book, the new words are "ask, me, named, other, puts," and the sound is /sh/.
