One of the best descriptions of the final battle on the Eastern Front, A guide to those ad hoc units the Germans had to assemble to try and slow down the Soviet Army and the leadership below the OKW and OKH level charged with that mission.
This book details the history of the III. SS Panzer Korps in detail. The Korps mainly consisted of the 11. SS Nordland PzGr. Div., and the 4. SS PzGr. Brigade. The book follows these units from inception through their training in partisan infested Yugoslavia to the Orienbaum Pocket area of the Eastern Front, and eventually back through Narwa and finally back to the Reich. The book is jam packed with information on the units battles. Most of the information in the book comes from the German show more archives, but the author does not footnote anything (which is the one major drawback of the book). The book is also full of first person accounts. The text is complimented by a nice selection of photos. The book is published by J.J. Fedorowicz Publishing, so the quality of the book is first class. I would highly recommend this book for anyone interested in the Eastern Front. show less
