Rog Phillips was one of the frequent contributors to the pulp SF magazines of the 1950s. By my count he had stories in at least 15 different pulp publications. With several stories in some. One of his novellas, "Rat In the Skull", was nominated for a HUGO.
"Worlds Within" was one of the 4 full length novels he wrote. Like many pulp regulars his transition to paperbacks was only a minor success. While a version of this story would have fit nicely into a 50's pulp magazine it was an show more uninteresting story as a novel. I can't even give it three stars for being average SF.
My version of the book is an original by Century Publications and does not include the second book. The cover is the same. show less

Unthinkable & Incomprehensible: Mind-Expanding Novellas from the Golden Age of the Pulps [The Rog Phillis Collection] by Rog Phillips
Two short works by a classic sci fi writer of the 40s and 50s. Each deals with paradoxes in perception and are quite enjoyable to read. "Unthinkable", as well as several of Phillips' novels, are available for free on Gutenberg, and the two stories together are available for Kindle under this title, free at the time of this review (2015).
