It was the title that made me pick up this book - that and the enchanting pictures. I wondered, is it just a cheap imitation of the Raggedy Ann stories, or is it a charming memoir by somebody who once loved their own Rag dolly?

Ragdolly Anna is the story of a Little Dressmaker who spent her free time fashoning a little rag doll from bits and scraps. She lost her for awhile, but was happy to find her on Christmas Eve! Unlike other rag dolls, such as Raggedy Ann or Hitty, this little dolly was show more "alive" from the beginning, and her Little Dressmaker taught her how to do all sorts of things! Sort of like Pinocchio, but Ragdolly Anna is much better behaved, and her nose always stayed the same button it started out to be.

Raggedy Ann is better, and so is Hitty by Rachael Field, but this one is still really cute! It would be cherished by any little girl who loves her doll family.
