Been in and around Quakers since 1974 and a Friend by Convincement as we say! For people not familiar with Quakers this is British Friends church government and collective current understanding of the light as recorded from the thoughts and experiences of people trying to understand their relationship with God, the world, individuals and themselves. Understanding/revelation is not fixed and final but a journey that each individual and generation is engaged on.

"Every stage of our lives offers show more fresh opportunities. Responding to divine guidance, try to discern the right time to undertake or relinquish responsibilities without due pride or guilt, Attend to what love requires of tour, which may not be great busyness individual and generation is engaged” show less
Advices and Queries are bits of wisdom and reminders to be examples of love, tolerance, and responsible citizenship. These are published with the Quaker Faith and Practice, which also includes matters of governance over Quaker meetings. This little book contains only the advices and queries, a handy size to use as a traveling devotional. As an example, No. 37 speaks to the Quaker Testimony of Integrity: "Are you honest and truthful in all you say and do? Do you maintain strict integrity in show more business transactions and in your dealings with individuals and organisations? Do you use money and information entrusted to you with discretion and responsibility? Taking oaths implies a double standard of truth; in choosing to affirm instead, be aware of the claim to integrity that you are making." show less
This is part two of Christian Faith and Practice of London Yearly Meeting and contains information about and detailed instructions for the operation of the Yearly Meeting, Generally meeting and Monthly Meeting. A very helpful book for Friends everywhere, even if not a part of London Yearly Meeting.
London Yearly Meeting (now Britain Yearly Meeting) has produced several more recent editions of this book of discipline, but I use this copy most often, as I have it well underlined, cross referenced and pages tab marked. This volume has the collection of writing of Friends.
