Cookie Monster put together a book about his favorite subject -- food! Painted in finger paint style and created to look like a handmade scrapbook, this board book describes types and events associated with food. As if to make up for Cookie Monster's snack-binging reputation, this book focuses on nutrition with quotes like, "Me love healthy food!" At the end of the book he eats a reasonably-sized portion of dessert. The illustrations for this book are very lively and colorful but the text show more lacks much interest or organization. A seemingly random sentence about food appears on each page. Young Sesame Street fans will likely get a kick out of this book, but it might leave others cold. It could have its place in a board book collection, but there are better things out there. show less

This box contains four lift-the-flap books that feature Elmo. They are written and illustrated to match the Elmo's World segment of Sesame Street; just as in the television show, each book has a theme of the day, as it were. The four topics are babies, puppies, food, and balls. As with other Sesame Street products, these stories put a premium on education and learning. Since this is based on Elmo's World, everything is aimed for a young audience, delivering simple facts about the topic at show more hand with Elmo's charming naivete.
