Crowbar Governor: The Life and Times of Morgan Gardner Bulkeley (Driftless Connecticut) by Kevin Murphy
A not particularly friendly biography of the well-known Gilded Age Connecticut politician; the author emphasizes pretty heavily some of the nefarious vote-buying and other behind-the-scenes tactics engaged by Bulkeley. Still, a good read.
