Summary: This is a standard presentation of independent, Baptist, fundamental ecclesiology. It address theological concerns and the corresponding practical applications. It is meant to be a fairly concise reference book concerning the subject.
Pros: It is well arranged and easily searchable. It contains a number of documents that are useful for future consultation (church constitutions, ordination council service order, letters of dismissal, etc.).
Cons: It is very black and white. There is a show more decided lack of charity towards opposing views. Some of the material is dated.
Evaluation: The value here is in the practical aspects, especially forms and service orders that contribute to the ordered life of the church. The foundational sections that develop Scripture in order to support the practical applications are less useful. They tend to gloss over alternative interpretations and are frequently too brief. show less
