The Bargain is a roller coaster and train wreck, so hang on for the ride. It is an "Old School'' 1980's- Bodice Ripper". There is a playboy nobleman with more issues than the New York Times. A orphaned heroine who is young, naive, beautiful and raised in a brothel (but never employed there except as a servant girl). She was protected by the cook and the prostitute with a heart of gold. There are evil relatives, lost relatives, misogynistic grandfather, vengeful women, an Irish Wolfhound, and show more a side trip to Italy. The plot revolves around misunderstandings and a lack of communication. If everyone was open and talked there would be no plot. Well, with all of that this book is a fun escapist's Mr Toad's Wild Ride. It is 540 pages of "what in the world is going to happen next". It ends, of course with HEA

If Bodice-Rippers are not your style, I would recommend that you pass on it, however if it is, this one is worth reading.
