After reading this book, I found like I'd made a new friend in Letty Whittaker. I happily spent a few hours in her world and can't wait to catch up with her in the next book. Donna White Glaser's author voice is perfect for telling this tale, equally smart and self-deprecating depending on the situation. Great combination of suspense and humor and a really well-drawn protagonist. The dashes of humor were spot-on, too!
Was barely able to finish because my eyes kept getting stuck from rolling them so hard. The author should be ashamed of herself for portraying such pathetic female protagonists and antagonists. "Letty", especially, made me alternately want to scream or bury my face in my hands. If I'd been reading an actual book and not an e-reader I'd have thrown it down multiple times in frustration. Honestly, what an embarrassingly sorry excuse not only for the female sex but for professional women show more everywhere. If I had to read one more time about her nauseating obsession with every male ass that waltzed past her, or her dumb hyperventilating-damsel-in-distress routine I was going to lose my shit. show less
This is more of a combination of suspense and mystery than cozy mystery. I found I was able to keep the main characters straight. I did not guess the perpetrator before it was revealed.
I liked it, but I probably wouldn't go looking for other books in the series--however, if they happened to come across my "free ebook" lists, I'd download and read them.

Letty Whittaker is a therapist and a recovering alcoholic. She's also being stalked by the abusive boyfriend of one of her patients after he threatened her at knife-point. Or at least she thinks it is him. But is it?
This is an excellent psychological thriller with likable and relatable characters. A real page turner! I loved it.
