Denning provides a woman's perspective on life in New York just after the Civil War and then the struggles endured by women who "wagoned" west. The book protrays the struggle for women's rights as well as the social constraints thar men placed on women wirhout hesitation with women seen as their property. An interesting read.
This book is for older students because of the text. This is about Aislynn Denehy in post-Civil War New York City. She can not find a job but that doesn't stop her because she believes in opportunity. She latter moves west to Utah. This book teaches a great lesson that anything can be accomplished with strong determination and a will to never give up on what you believe in.
Was very happy with it until about halfway. Would have rated higher but was very unhappy with the ending. Feel like I wasted 2 day of my life that I should have spent doing something else.
