A delightful set of cartoons from the USA. Carl Fallberg was a professional writer and cartoonist who worked in Hollywood, in particular for the great cartoon studios, Warner Bros. and Disney. In his spare time, he contributed cartoons to the magazine "Railroad" which concerned the rather "unique" narrow-gauge line in the Rockies, the Fiddletown & Copperopolis Railway.
To me, a British reader, the cartoons seem in the style of a mix of Giles and Heath Robinson, with a dash of H.N. Bateman for show more good measure. The F&C is depicted as a classic backwoods railway, with all the codges, bodges and inventive shoe-string technology that such a railway might consider to be normal.
Perhaps the most amazing thing to me is the fact that both Fiddletown and Copperopolis exist, though neither was ever connected to anywhere else by rail... show less

Very funny and well-drawn series of vignettes about a fictional narrow-gauge California railroad. Most of the jokes mean more to railroad buffs, but there's a lot of fun for everyone.
I read this to my son yesterday and today. He loved it and I had fun too remembering my childhood with Mickey. Well done. Highly recommended to Mickey Mouse fans!
A collection of Mickey Mouse stories with good illustrations. Some of the stories were more entertaining than others. There were characters and places that I had not heard of or seen before. Of course we also see the old favourites as well, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy. Not sure if children will enjoy the stories as much as older fans who grew up with Mickey Mouse but they will definitely enjoy the illustrations. Mickey gets into trouble throughout the stories, but always figures it out and gets show more out of it before the end of the story. A collection that Mickey Mouse fans will enjoy.
