Silly book! I think I know what sorts of books Dan Brown was reading as a kid. LOL!!!

I liked the word play and the Doom's Day Plan list that could be made to mean pretty much anything at the time it was important to the plot. It was the perfect book to read on a lazy post-Christmas day.
Moral of the story is all well and good, but the writing sucks. Big time. You mean General Lafayette can’t spare any men to secure a major gunpowder (ooops, spoiled that) depot even when his siege of the British in another location depends on it? He’s going to let three not very bright 20 somethings who have no plan wing it?

This book is based on the TV series (which also must have inspired the film). It's all very silly and corny so far. I must see how it ends... or not. Max Smart is a moron. He is the inspector Clouseau of the spy world. Poor 99, a capable female spy, has to work with him to ensure the dotty Professor Von BOOM stays out of the clutches of the evil organisation KAOS by taking a circuitous route to the North Pole via the Antarctic. Smart's not-so-smart theories and remarks get more and more show more irritating. I got to chapter 3 and decided I would spend my life on something more worthwhile... show less
A quick, but solid horror read. It certainly made for a fun afternoon!
