Paranormal romance with a unique premise: what if Atlantis was a city of vampires? Ian is the ruling prince of Atlantis. With his vampire brethren, he guards this underwater prison containing Earth's greatest monsters. Then one escapes. Ian must travel to the surface for the first time in a long while to recapture the monster known as Norgis. Once on land, his plan is soon derailed as he smells the most alluring scent and discovers... Katharine, a curator at a museum in Miami. She doesn't show more have much going on in her life, until she crosses paths with Norgis and Ian jumps in to save her. He knows that they are destined for each other, and Katharine is starting to feel it too. But capturing Norgis won't be easy, especially when other paranormal beings come into the picture.

The concept of Atlantis being a prison for monsters, overseen by vampire protectors, is such a fun idea. I was hoping for a bit more depth in the worldbuilding though. This is a short novel, so hopefully we will get more in future installments. The romance was enjoyable. It's classic insta-love. Ian is a sexy leading man, though definitely overbearing. Katherine needs to marshal her strength and continue to stand up to him. I'd love to see more of the werewolves and more of the imprisoned monsters, including Vane, in the future. Excited to see where this series can go.

This book was a definite treat for a fantasy reader like me. It was the first I read with a spider shifter. Aranha is a spider who thinks she is on the verge of extinction. She meets up with Dag, a daywalker who feels the same. Neither really trusts the other. They both end up on a mission that brings surprises. The book is full of action. I even finished it with my fear of spiders. The description of her fangs coming down, shifting into a spider or her little buddies coming out creeped me show more out. It made the book even better. I loved seeing the bit of romance develop between Dag and Aranha because walls had to fall. Twists and turns throughout the plot made it kind of like a wild slide. The characters were cool in a butt kicking way. I definitely recommend this. show less
A spider-shifter for a main character makes for an incredible new world of possibilities. I’ve never read anything with a Webmaker before and found this to be a more magical and interesting story because of it. I felt like I was reading the wild-west equivalent of urban fantasy and wasn’t sure what to expect, but thoroughly enjoyed reading more about this world. The story had a great and natural flow to it that got me to read it faster than I would have with a book of a similar length. show more The author created an amazing tale with a strong, female lead, enthralling plot, and intriguing side characters! show less
I received an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this title from LibraryThing in exchange for an honest review.

Vampires in Atlantis centers on the premise that Atlantis served as a prison for monsters with vampires for guards. When Atlantis sank near the Bermuda Triangle, the monsters and the vampires went to the bottom of the sea and continued their existence. When the novel begins, the vampire leader, Ian, has risen to the surface world for the first time in centuries in search of a monster that show more had escaped its cell in Atlantis. Once on the surface, Ian encounters Katherine, a museum curator who specializes in archaeological displays. The chemistry is immediate and intense between Ian and Katherine as they unite to try and defeat the escaped Atlantean monster named Jovi, who just happens to be Ian’s brother. There are several subplots involving werewolves, intriguing imprisoned monsters, and Atlantean warriors that will hopefully be expanded in future books in the series. I enjoyed this book and hope the author continues the series. Fans of Gena Showalter’s Atlantis series will love this entry into the Atlantis lexicon. show less
