About the Author

Gloria Ladson-Billings was a professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She worked for a decade as a teacher and administrator in the Philadelphia Public Schools. She is the author of The Dreamkeepers (Jossey-Bass, 1997).

Dream Keepers tells you the experiences of successful teacher of African American children. It also gives their opinion of the school system and how things are and what things should change. It is a very informative book. It also gives people tips on how to be a better teacher. It shows you different teaching methods that will help you in a classroom setting.
Educators of all kinds would appreciate this wonderfully researched work. It is eye-opening and honest. Teachers must learn different ways to reach their students. This is one way to do it! Read this Book!
