I cannot express how much I was anticipating this read. Two of my favorite authors collaborating together to create a literal masterpiece. Weaver and Wolfe’s definitive writing styles blend perfectly together to create fleshed out and passionate characters that will take you on a wild ride.

The writing is SMART, the research that was done shows and makes for a thrilling forensic journey while being whisked along a slow burn romance between Jack and Kyrie. These characters are delicious, show more they mask to blend in and prowl among the masses. Kyrie is smart, funny and you sort of want to emulate her… minus the murder ( maybe? ), a razor blade hidden in a slice of cake. Jack is calculating and precise, bursting at the seams to fulfill his desires. There’s nothing more thrilling than having intelligent characters do mental warfare with each other, that’s the foreplay.

This story will pull at your heartstrings and at times you think you’ve figured it all out, and just FYI, you haven’t. Twists galore! Highly recommend for the high caliber writing, plot and character development

OMG, I heart this book so hard. I had been in a bit of a reading slump and this book picked me up instantly. I literally could not put it down. I could not read this book fast enough. The bits of steamy romance happened later in the story. For which I was glad as the authors striked a really good balance of romance with the main storyline. In fact, this book made me think of another one of my favorite series featuring a female serial killer by the name of Gretchen. She had a relationship show more with the detective investigating her, Archie. They shared a twisted love relationship. The series is Heartsick by Chelsea Cain. This book also gave me "You" vibes from Caroline Kepnes books.

Kyrie and Jack were evenly matched in wits. Thus, the reason I enjoyed seeing them in action. I never knew what they were going to do next to try to up the ante. I will definitely be checking out these authors other books. This passage from the book is fitting: "Creatures designed like us were not meant to bask in the light for long. Where we lurk, the darkness always finds us."

1st. It says Kindle edition is 155 pages. It is actually closer to 190 pages.
2nd. This series Knocked My Socks off!! A great Thriller and Adult Erotic Romance.
It is provoking. You find yourself a part of the Dark that lives in Sadie Bonds, the main female character.
It is tantalizing. You just can't quit reading no matter how much you need to do other things.
This world that Trisha Wolfe created, the characters, the mix and fight of Dark and Light that you can't help but relate to in some show more way, entices and fascinates you.
Is there room for improvement? Perhaps..... But I was so involved in the story, the flow of the story and the characters, that I literally cannot say if there were any editing errors, etc.
The story is just that gripping.
Was it worth the $3.99 I spent for it? A resounding YES! Even with my 'economical' (cheap) personality, I say YES! YES! YES!!

Wow I'm so glad they changed the cover to do this book justice. I was immediately engrossed in the world Trisha Wolfe created in Destiny's Fire. I found it to be unique and interesting as the city grew out of the ground in my mind. All the pieces of the world fit together and made sense. The story was fast paced and action filled and I honestly can't think of one slow spot. There was enough twist to keep me interested. I felt like the book had a perfect balance of love and conflict.

The show more characters were great and easy to connect to and I loved the love triangle. That hardly happens, usually I find myself angry at one of the characters. Instead I could see why Dez was torn, I was torn. I thought I loved Jace, then Reese, the Jace, wait no no I love Reese. I also liked how her character would rather not be either boy then lose either. Dez was strong and loyal and I loved how her friends stand by her, it doesn't matter what she does. Which is how real friends are. show less
