I absolutely LOVED this book! After reading many time-travel romance novels in which magical powers moved characters through time, it was a treat to read one that utilized scientific theory instead to conjure 'magic.' Furthermore, the romance between Brand and Kate intoxicates...including fully-clothed kissing scenes that induce the kind of tingling butterflies as only the best YA romances can. That said, you'll not be disappointed when their relationship evolves to include some explicit and show more sizzling love scenes! show less
Great fun
I've loved this series from book 1 on. I truly lived seeing all the characters actually meet up in this exciting read... Not to mention piece together how Donnel ties in with everyone.... Add in a psycho trying to harm them for some unknown reason, and Scarlett's psycho, money grubbing mother into the mix and we have an interesting foe. To fully understand this final book in the exciting series, I HIGHLY suggest reading the previous books. Not a neccesity, but helps with the back show more story. People from many different time lines band together to help save the life of an unborn baby... Along the way they learn there are more family to be discovered and enemies to escape. All in all it's a really fun read with romance, family and an obsessed psycho trying to end it all. show less

I'm always looking for a good time-travel romance and this one fits the bill. Not only is Scarlet Thomas a star in a famous Harry Potter-like movie series, she is also a geeky fan girl. Angeline Fortin must be one as well - otherwise, who else would start their book with a quote from Doctor Who.
Scarlet touches a claymore in a newly opened castle/museum and is transported back to 1513 where she meets Laird James Hepburn and his step-brother Rhys. They don't know whether she is a spy or lost show more but they take her back to their father's castle. While Rhys becomes her friend, she and Laird begin a dance of attraction and lust taking their time before giving in to the attraction.
Scarlet doesn't know why she has been sent back 500 years until she finds that the Scots are headed to fight the English at the battle of Flodden. She knows that this battle will be a landslide victory for the English and recognizes that she is there to save Laird's life. Can she save him? What happens if she does? Will she return to her time or stay with him? Will he return to the present with him? Angeline Fortin manages to answer all these questions and more - all the while making the reader feel for the characters and cheer for their good fortune. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to going back to read the first book in this series. show less

Ticked all my boxes!
It's got realistic characters that don't make you want to slap or shake sense into them. The method of time travel is believable and there is a bit of suspense to go with it. Combine that with a good plot and back story and we have a winner folks!
