Flynn's best, and in glorious color! There has never been an actress who looks more beautiful than Olivia De Havilland in this film. And Basil Rathbone is the ultimate villain, since he brings almost as much charisma as Flynn to his role--and is a better actor. Worth watching again and again.
A film starring Bette Davis, Ann Sheridan and Monty Woolley (Warner Bros., 1942)

An injured pompous celebrity takes over a family's house.

C (Indifferent).

It might have been okay, despite being a mediocre play that tries desperately to be zany, if Monty Woolley were an actor. He just yells for two hours.

A rebel challenges a usurper.

It's corny and dated, but in a way that's fun if you get into the old-timey adventure spirit of it.

2025 movie #105. 1947. An 18-yo woman (Temple) shows up in the Mexico City train station looking for her soldier boy friend. When he doesn't show she goes looking for help at the American consulate. The consul (Tone) tries to help but much slapstick follows. Good for a few laughs
